SSSSSssssss my beautiful Soul Sister,

The Serpent is ready to meet you this week and excited to work with you.  She has been waiting patiently for you to get your feet planted before making her acquaintance.  She wanted you to feel comfortable with her form because let's face it, not everyone loves the looks of serpents.  In fact, some might be frightened by her sight.

How do we work with this amazing archetype, power animal, guide?  Well, we do it through something called a journey.  We will first learn about the journeying as there are some protocols that need to be followed.  Then we will journey to meet your personal guide the serpent.  She will become one of your best allies and from here on in she will be your guide throughout all of your upcoming journeys.

Becoming rooted,
Carole

Yoga

One of the best poses to honor our Serpent guide is the Cobra pose also known as Bhujangasana in Sanskrit.  The benefits of this pose are:
  • Fights fatigue
  • Relieves lower back pain
  • Boosts both the energetic and the physical body

  1. Lie prone on the floor. Stretch your legs back, tops of the feet on the floor. Spread your hands on the floor under your shoulders. Hug the elbows back into your body.
  2. Press the tops of the feet and thighs and the pubis firmly into the floor.
  3. On an inhalation, begin to straighten the arms to lift the chest off the floor, going only to the height at which you can maintain a connection through your pubis to your legs. Press the tailbone toward the pubis and lift the pubis toward the navel. Narrow the hip points. Firm but don’t harden the buttocks.
  4. Firm the shoulder blades against the back, puffing the side ribs forward. Lift through the top of the sternum but avoid pushing the front ribs forward, which only hardens the lower back. Distribute the back-bend evenly throughout the entire spine
  5. Hold the pose anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds, breathing easily. Release back to the floor with an exhalation.

Journal

  • Journal how the shamanic breath feels like in your body:
  • What do you notice?
  • How many feminine characteristics does the serpent hold?
  • Journal details, messages, experience around your Serpent guide retrieval.
  • Journal your experience honoring the serpent ceremony.

Ceremonies

The act of journeying is a sacred ceremony.  Anytime we bring our spirit to work with another spirit it's considered a ceremony.  It's a celebration of spirits.

The same goes for journeying.  You are calling on your spirit, the guide spirit and seeking assistance, help, wisdom from other spirits. This gathering is a call for ceremony.

We honor ceremony with the elements.  We can incorporate the following:
  • Fire
  • Air (smoke)
  • Water
  • Earth
