The year 2020 pushed so many of us to offer and to learn via the virtual methods through apps like Zoom, Google Groups, Facebook Groups and so on. Honestly, it doesn't replace the hands-on student / teacher experiences. But it does offer us a virtual community where we get to check in, get caught up and ask questions.
As a teacher it forced me to clearly articulate the poses in a class, so that you can imagine me coming around and giving you some adjustments. Regardless of how you look at it, I am grateful for our soul sister virtual community and will continue to offer 6 to 8 weeks series during the 4 seasons. All classes at this point will be offered through Zoom. Zoom is a free app for you. The link for ALL virtual classes will remain the same throughout the seasons as will the password (unless otherwise instructed). |

Are you bored of showing up on your mat everyday in the same spot or the same studio? Yoga does not need to be so rigid, well not in my books anyways. Let your yoga, movement practice be available to you anytime and anywhere. In this 4 week spring series, Yoga Off the Mat we will move in our kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Heck we might even step outside in the fresh air. Let's bring laughter into our yoga practice and seriously (no not seriously at all) let's have some FUN!. |
The summer months are hot and humid here in Canada. When we have an active yoga practice that is typically fiery, it's nice to add a little flow movement to the limbs. This adds what we call Jala in Sanskrit which means water. With a little dose of water we can assist our bodies to not overheat in the heat of summer!
Join me for the Flowing with Water 4 week summer series as we move the arms and limbs to bring in the freshness of jala! |
I'm not going to lie to you...I'm not a fan of the warrior poses. To be honest I'm not even sure why that is, I just tend to avoid them LOL! But if it's one thing I know is in life we need to teach what we need to learn! So here I am. It's important to step out of your comfort zone and stretch your abilities. There are no better group of soul sisters that I'd rather do this with than you.
Please join me in this 8 week fall series; Warrior Soul Sisters as we find our inner warriors! I know we will find some incredible inner strength! |
The fourth limb of yoga is called in Sanskrit Pranayama, which translates to 'focusing on breath'. There are several very important methods of breathing that have amazing benefits. In this short, 4 week series Be Your Breath we will uncover 4 of these breaths: Ujjayi, Bee Breath, Lions Breath, and Breath of Fire. Now more than ever it's important to learn how to breathe. We take our breath for granted. It happens without us having to think about it. But there is another type of breathing that exists. It is one that is done mindfully and the list of benefits is endless. |
Ahhhh so so sweet it is to Rest and Renew. You'll remember last year that this was one of the most treasured series we did together. Deep diving means allowing your body to rest and be supported. All of these delightful poses are done on the floor with the assistance of props like a bolster, blocks and blankets. So get your jammies on and lets Deep Dive Into Rest! |
