3rd Class

In this week's class we will explore night time rituals to get us into a relaxed state for sleeping:
  • After work
    • Light yoga
    • Pranayama (Breath)
    • Meditation
  • Nourish
    • Eat a light meal that is easy to digest
    • (your biggest meal should be lunch)
  • Light activity
    • Walking
    • Reading
    • Light movie (funny, romance)
    • Listen to music

4th Class

In this week's class we will explore a continued conversation around night time rituals:
  • Sipping on a warm drink a few hours before bed like a chamomile tea or golden milk
  • Warm oil massage (best before a hot bath)
    • Make sure to oil the top of the head, ears, neck, arms, belly, legs and feet
  • Dim the lights around 8pm
  • Shut off all electronics, cell phones, tablets, laptops, TVs, radios
All sleep routines should be done before 10 pm, and it is recommended that you are in bed by no later than 10 pm.

*Recommended oil for massage is organic, raw, sesame seed oil

5th Class

In this class we will explore extra tips and tricks to help you sleep:
  • Pranayama breath - Ujjayi Breath
  • Pranayama breathe - Alternate Nostril
  • Restorative Pose - Child's pose with forhead on ground
  • Restorative Pose - Fish pose
  • Visualizing sacred geometry

Today we will cover the following morning routine:
  • The earlier you wake up, the earlier you want to go to sleep
  • When you wake in the middle of the night and put a light on, you could be telling the body it's time to wake up - it gets confused
  • Exposing ourselves to dawn light can regulate your inner biological clock
  • Before closing your eyes for sleep, practice Sankalpa (commitment to spiritual self care) to wake up early
  • Wake up to a gentle sound
  • Breath 5-5-5
  • Gaze at something auspicious
  • Set your feet down and say thank you
  • Eliminate
